ASAP-UFO_Everything is Screen

a forecast investigating contemporary lifestyle communication on YouTube somewhere in the future.

2014, collaboration with Alix Gallet (FR)

The forecasting project “Everything is Screen” presents the video blog and YouTube channel LYFSTYL_101, investigating the contemporary communication of lifestyles in the setting of a future where the screen represents so much more than in the present.

“Everything is Screen” aimed to look at the subject of a screen as a projection – a projection of possibly fiction. Fiction raises questions of “truth or false”, and what does this uncertainty mean, in a culture constantly moving faster towards even more digitalisation?

Using a highly contemporary media and social platform, LYFSTYL_101 does not answer any of these questions, but rather keeps asking them – and eventually invites you to join the conversation, through the choice of media.

The project is a wish to generate awareness of the Internet generation’s use and belief in the matters of contemporary screen-based media, while humorously applying the format to concern products that only exist in an unidentified future.

ASAP-UFO (2014-2015 —rip)
“Alix & Sidsel Art & Prospective - Unidentified Futures Organisation”, was a collaboration between designers, Alix Gallet (FR) and Sidsel Søgaard Spas (DK). Together they explored their shared passion for investigating the unknown – the future – through design fiction. ASAP-UFO was a playground for musing about the time yet to come. Through satirical forecasts, they aimed to generate conversations about imagined futures, projected back on contemporary culture.
